TITLE:  Teacher, Special Education

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  10 Month

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:   Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students access the curriculum to the greatest extend possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports.  

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:  Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  NYS Dual Certified Teacher, Content Specific Special Education Certification in English or Students with Disabilities Generalist and English 7-12 certification.
